No Timetable on Aleister Black Return

WWE viewers haven’t seen hide or hair from former NXT Champion Aleister Black since his no-disqualification match against Kevin Owens on Oct. 12 of last year.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Black is suffering from minor injuries, which could be a factor in his absence. Meltzer gave no details on Black’s injuries, nor a timetable on his return.

Aside from the injuries, according to Meltzer, Black’s overall status within the WWE is also suffering. Black, along with Buddy Murphy and the recently release Andrade, benefited from Paul Heyman’s favor while Heyman served as general manager of RAW. Meltzer reports that Vince McMahon was never a fan of any of these three wrestlers. Andrade was recently granted a release, which he requested after the WWE fired Zelina Vega, reportedly for launching an OnlyFans account. Zelina Vega, Andrade’s manager for several years, is also Aleister Black’s wife.

Black showed his support for Andrade on March 200 after the public announcement of his release.

While apparently not popular with McMahon, the same is true for several wrestlers the fans latch onto. Black himself has become a cult favorite (pun intended) and fans will certainly be watching to see if he follows Andrade or manifests a miracle push.
