YouTuber Lindsay Ellis had a heartfelt message for her Patreon followers on Dec. 27 as she announced her retirement from content creation. Earlier this year, Twitter users targeted Ellis in a brigading campaign, accusing Ellis of anti-Asian racism after she compared “Raya and the Last Dragon” to “Avatar: The Last Airbender” in a tweet.
Ellis posted a lengthy video in response to the accusations, in addition to addressing and explaining other issues brought up by users. After posting the video, Ellis took a step back from Twitter, using the platform only to promote content. But she said for the past several months, her channel has simply been running on fumes and she wants to step out of the public spotlight.
