News broke all over the internet today that Martin Scorsese will direct and co-produce an origin movie about The Joker. This film will not include Jared Leto, who’s portrayal of Gotham City’s most feared psychotic drew mixed reactions from fans. Some loved him, many hated him.
This film is intended to be more of a gritty crime movie. Scorsese has directed some of the most iconic crime movies of all time, including Goodfellas and Gangs of New York. He showed his versatility in fictional psychopaths when he wrote Cape Fear.
