For years now, Pinterest users have expressed frustration over the platform’s removal of safe for work pins for adult content. In the report violations, the company claims that each report is reviewed by an actual human being but pattern or flags and removals seems to indicate that these decisions are made by a poorly functioning algorithm.

In addition to the deletion of safe for work pins, Pinterest still has a huge problem with adult content on the site. As many users have reported, adult content can still be found while browsing sfw topics and these pins often are not removed when reported.
Yet these random removals aren’t limited solely to pins. In the r/Pinterest forums on Reddit, so many users have found their entire accounts banned that the admins created a megathread.
The frustration is understandable. Many of these users have spent years on their Pinterest accounts and amassed a lot of followers only for the company to ban their board on a violation which the user did not commit.

Unfortunately, Pinterest offers little to nothing in the way of customer support. Users have two options when a pin is removed or a board is banned: they can appeal the removal through the violations center or they can submit a ticket through the help center. Some users reported getting their pins or accounts reinstated after several appeals, but other users have had no luck.
There is no phone number nor chat, nor any proven way of talking to an actual human being within the company even in the case of a total account ban.
Unfair bans and unresponsive customer support are a consistent problem across multiple social media companies. Facebook users report similar experiences, but Pinterest seems to suffer from this issue worse than most, judging by the amount of posts on r/Pinterest. Caution is advised for anyone interested in using this platform to grow their company.
