The Remembrancer, a Warhammer 40K lore guru who was demonetized following vague allegations of YouTube policy violations just before Christmas, has been remonetized. In a video announcement, The Remembrancer said he woke up that morning and found a notification on his phone that his account had been reinstated into the YouTube partner program. He said he was not expecting his account to be reinstated before the 90-day wait period that YouTube had given him before he would be allowed to reapply for monetization. In fact, he said, he wasn’t certain his account would be reinstated at all.
In his video he thanked the fans and noted an outpouring of people offering to help, including lawyers, and everyone who contacted YouTube to complain about the demonetization. In particular he also noted several other influencers such as Majorkill, Bricky, Baldermort, Lutein, Chapter Master Valrak, Astartes Anonymous, Tim Linward, Arthur Bones and the Lorecrimes guides from the Lorecrimes podcast. He said his finances should be fine now and although he lost four weeks of income with the demonetization, the influx of Patreon donations should be enough to account for the loss.
He also thanked several Google employees for their help in trying to figure out what happened and to get his channel reinstated.
Although he worries about triggering another YouTube ban again, he promised to get back into making videos. He said there won’t be as many short videos, for fear of another misunderstanding, but he said the flow of videos would remain steady.
He announced a new channel called Remembrancer Tertius. He said he’d planned this channel for a while, so it wasn’t just a response against the demonetization, but he went ahead and announced the channel while letting his followers know about his remonetization status. He said there’s no videos currently on Tertius, but he encouraged anyone interested to go ahead and subscribe while they’re thinking of it.
